Five on Friday {what a week.}

Sooo happy Friday everyone!!

We have had a crazy week, but in a good way! Bryan's mom is staying with us and having a little vacation, and it's going to be a fun weekend playing tourist in Houston and showing her around!  I actually feel semi confident that we know what we're doing here now and can actually guide peeps around a bit!

Onto the FIVE!

1.  Oh hi perfect German Chocolate cake I made! & happy birthday again Bryan!

2.  I am happy to share that The League on FX will be back in just ONE month!

Seems muy trivial, but for real got me excited!!

3.  Oh hi Internet! What's that? More amazing news for me? About a PHILLIP LIM LINE AT TARGET? Omg dies.

This bag is everything. I am in love and will make it mine for fall & winter.

4.   This pic is also everything, but in a less RZ, more adorable puppy snoozing on husband pic. I die a little inside over this.

Sorry I'm not sorry that I'm a HUGE CREEP taking sleep pics. We all know he does it back because I've posted the evidence too.

5.  I will never apologize for jamming to Mariah. But this song? I mean jamming doesn't cover the things that happen when I play it in the car while I'm driving solo.

Cheers to the weekend everyone!  What was your jam this week?  Did you bake or cook anything amazing? Most importantly, did you take at least one creepy photo?! :)

The Weekend and 3/4 of the Week {lazy.}

Whhhhat? I'm supposed to post on my beautiful new site?? Ok. I know. Slacker ways.   Well good news is that I have a bunch of photos to share. Which is great news because we are currently hosting Bryan's mom for a week here and I have virtually no free time for the next week!

Golf love last Friday! Read all about how I didn't suck at golf inMonday's post.

Woooo wine!  Friday night we went out to dinner for Bryan's birthday. I promptly drank a bottle of wine to celebrate for him!  This was glass two.

Then I had a delicious steak! Yay for Churrasscos! Please note the three stems of glasses in front of me.

Took a semi decent selfie before everything went to hell and I took a couple too many birthday drinks in honor of my husband!

Saturday we hauled up to our friend's pool party and took Barley! He frolicked off the leash and added three new girlfriends  to his book!  So now he has two black labs who are seven, and one boxer who is 6 months, plus a few from around the apartment area too!

Playa puppy!

Saturday night we got to go out to dinner with my BFF's older brother and his fiancĂ©e who halfsie live here now!   We went to Cyclone Anaya's and I even managed to choke down a marg.  seriously delish food tho!

After we went to a few bars in Midtown and showed them around a bit! Seriously such a blast and I can't wait for both of them to be here permanently!

Sunday is all summed up by this pic:

L.a.z.y.

In other random news:

Barley is really starting to get big!

Beatles are ruling my commute to work this week.

We picked up "a little" BBQ  for my mother in law's first night here visiting last night! So out of control delicious. Always get grilled zucchini people!

I Don't Suck At Golf {yay!}

Sooo, Friday was Bryan's birthday and I surprised him with a round of 18 for the two of us and tow of his buddies!  We pulled into the lot at the golf course and he was shocked to see his friends there, win!

Since I am basically exhausted from our amazingly fun and perf weekend, here is the part where I show you how fun golfing was via photos!

So here I am...ready to go and so scared and nervous!  Had not golfed since I was like 14...so almost 13 years I guess! Yikes.

Golf cart selfie time!

Then we casually rolled up on this hole and it had like 8 bunkers. What? Excuse you golf course?

Luckily the cart girl rolled up and I got a beer to take the edge off. Which was good, because things got worse.

Oh ok, so I just hit it from land onto an island and life's great and everything is cool? Awesome.

I missed on that one, but I did clear the water on another one and land it on the green!  So I was pretty proud of that. We had a reallyyyy fun afternoon, and hopefully soon I will be getting my lady starter clubs and maybe even take a couple lessons!

You can basically golf 360 days of the year here so I think it will be a perfect sport/hobby to take up!

Anyone out there a golfer/would like to be one? I mean getting in it for the cute golf clothes is worth it alone!

More on our weekend tomorrow!

Welcome to Simply Sara Elizabeth!

Hellloooo all of my lovely and fresh-faced readers who made it here despite my Bloglovin' not being turned over yet!  (BTW Bloglovin', way to be so difficult to change your web address.  Customer service email is pending now.)

Welcome to Simply Sara Elizabeth!!

I am over the moon excited to be sharing my new design and name with everyone today!

I have been wanting to make a BIG change for a while now....

"Sara In Texas" was great, but none of it felt like me....Sara Elizabeth.

So I contacted the beautiful and talented Ms. Kaitlyn at Put a Bow on It:

 photo blogbuttonfinal_zps9abb8692.jpg
k go say hi to her now, thanks.
And she has created the beautiful vision in front of you right now, Simply Sara Elizabeth.
You will get the same ridiculous lists, the same wannabe runner stories, adorable puppy pictures, the occasional delicious recipe idea, and of course, all of the wine/champs/vodka sodas this blog can handle!
I am just so excited about all of this.  All of my social media (except Bloglovin') has been turned over so you should be good to go if you're already following me
....and if you don't already follow along, then head to my new fancy schmancy social media buttons up top and keep up!  Don't be afraid of the old "Sara In Texas" pics that still appear...to be replaced soon. I swear.
I also have a gorgeous new button that I can't wait to show off in lots of sponsorships, and if you're feeling kind, take that along with you today! (PS this is why I haven't booked any for the next few months...wanted to have all of this re-branding and re-design done!)
Finally, there will still be a few changes to come, mostly small things, and I will be adding new things here and there, and updating my pages over the next few days, so I ap
I feel like this whole post is all exclamation points, and I don't even care, I am just so. freakin. happy. to have a blog that represents me in a better light, and I can't say enough amazeball things about Kaitlyn, she nailed it on the first go with my design.  I literally said, "glitter and sparkles, and um, this is the new name." and BOOM. And in under 10 days, no less.
Love.
So thanks for coming by, and I can't wait to start this new chapter of my blog life with everyone!  I seriously feel so rejuvenated (like Ramona on RHONY) with this fresh look and name, so I am hoping to funnel that into a lot of great posts to come!

Strawberry Marg Jello Shots a/k/a Summer Perfection

Okkk so this is going to be maybe my best recipe share ever on the blog.

It is for the most delicious and easy jello shots I've ever made!

Strawberry. Margarita.  Made with Skinnygirl.

Yes. SKINNYGIRL. (Amongst all of our brown booze like brandy, bourbon and whiskey!)

So here's what you will need:

2 packages of strawberry jello (sugar free worked well for me!)
1 bottle of Skinnygirl margarita (or whatever your pre-made marg choice is, don't worry you only use 2 cups of it)
1-2 pints of strawberries, hulled out carefully (larger ones are better!)
Optional:  1 can of Straw-ber-Rita (we did use this)

Boil 2 cups of water and dissolve the jello packets in there.  Once it's dissolved, add in your 2 cups of Skinnygirl and optional, the can of Straw-ber-Rita (if using), and let that simmer for a couple minutes.

Have your strawberries ready to be filled, a/k/a don't try to be hulling them and filling them as you go, it's stressful...I mean maybe I sorta did that and ended up slicing up berries to the degree they were unusable!

If you aren't putting the shot in the strawberries, I highly recommend placing a berry in each of your mini plastic shot glasses, really classes the situation up and tastes awesome!

K, now the tough part...put them in the fridge and wait until you can enjoy the deliciousness poolside, lakeside, riverside, basically anywhere outside.

See? Look how much happier I am with Jell-O shots in my life!!

I had lots more pictures but then I did something idiotic when I plugged my "new iPhone" into my computer for the first time ever (have had it for 3 months.) and now they are somewhere in the cloud! With all of my puppy pics too!

Do you have a favorite jello shot?  Enjoy summer fun with these, guys!
